One building, a whole world
Odel Mall is the logical next step towards making Sri Lankas’s capital Colombo more attractive and vibrant. It’s a gem in the heart of the metropolis, which unites shopping with spa facilities, entertainment, culinary enjoyment and exclusive premium apartments. Since 2011, blocher partners has been collaborating with Odel. Its accomplishments include the planning and realization of a department store insinde a shopping mall.
Odel also represents sustainable architecture, incorporating local themes and a cosmopolitan flair. Lushly planted terraces and protuberances as well as a green boulevard form a visual connection with the park across the way – creating a seamless transition from outside to in. Various protruding and receding architectural elements break up the façade. The resultant progressive form combines with traditional terracotta to create a blend of new and old elements. Here, the beauty of variety and diversion is tangible.
