conversion and expansion of a jewelry store in the luxury segment — Bahnhofstraße 50, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland — 100 m² — 2024 — Bucherer AG, Lucerne, Switzerland

New High Jewellery Floor

The Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich is one of the most prestigious shopping addresses in the world. The Bucherer store at number 50 looks back on a long history; the building was last refurbished five years ago. At that time, blocher partners was also responsible for the interior design. Now the 3rd floor, a former administrative floor, has also been added. This is where Bucherer presents its premium jewellery.

The rooms have a warm, cosy atmosphere reminiscent of a luxurious living and dining room and invite discerning clientele to linger. A specially designed VIP room enhances the exclusivity and offers guests a private retreat. The redesigned High Jewellery department is directly connected to the neighbouring Sotheby's via a passageway.
The materials used by blocher partners are not only sustainable and durable, but also reflect the quality of the products on offer. Whitewashed ash wood stucco and stuccolustro on the walls, wooden floors and natural stone surfaces harmonise with the jewellery. Furniture made of stainless steel and exposed concrete complement the interior. The shelving designed by blocher partners and the visual merchandising tools feature a light but robust construction. A central support, clad in a brass-coloured metal shaft and surrounded by display cases, forms the heart of the area and also serves as an impressive sculpture. The carefully planned lighting showcases the jewellery.
In short: a successful symbiosis of traditional luxury and contemporary design that further strengthens Bucherer's position as a leading provider of watches and jewellery in Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse. The successful collaboration between blocher partners and Bucherer underlines not only their outstanding design expertise, but also their shared pursuit of excellence.
