Interior design of a new 4-star superior business hotel with 158 rooms — Timişoara, Rumänien — 8,000 m² — 2020 — Mulberry Development

Flowing transition

The west Romanian city of Timisoara – European Capital of Culture 2021 – reveals many historical and cultural influences. Now, a modern hotel has become the cornerstone of a newly developed district, interacting with the city and its lively art and cultural scenes.

The interior design concept focuses on flowing transition: Two wooden cores form the optical backbone of the public areas, with lobby, bar, restaurant, conference rooms and a ballroom. Lofty airspaces over three stories create interesting visual references, while glass surfaces between the wooden cores ensure openness and interaction. A flowing ceiling sculpture links the public areas.Citations of regional culture are found in the Banat motif that is used in a modern graphic in the public hotel area, while the colourful facades of the historic old city are picked up in the design of the rooms. The result is a hotel that combines accessibility and liveliness with style and elegance.
