Development and implementation of a premium store concept — Rita-Maiburg-Straße 6A, 60549 Frankfurt, Germany — 4,000 m² — 30. August 2019 — Schustermann & Borenstein GmbH
An exclusive shopping experience
The concept, with its stylish interplay of additive marble, concrete and steel elements, links the demands of quality fashion with the requirements of a flexible sales area. Rosé tones bring a gentle light and homey, burnished atmosphere to the entire women’s department. Colour and optics interact to enhance the visual harmony. Wood elements in the floor add warm accents to the premium and young fashion department. Rounding off the shopping experience is a bar where members can enjoy a coffee, snacks and cold drinks.
A broad, winding staircase leads up to the men’s department and down to the cashier on the ground floor. Here, too , a gold-toned metal structure links the two levels thematically. Furnishings and decorative accessories in a palette of dark green, leather-look and cognac bring out the distinctive masculine character of men's fashion.
Fashion for members only
Gracing Frankfurt’s Gateway Gardens district, not far from the airport, is the shopping community’s fourth “BestSecret” store. The shopping community is run by the Bavarian fashion retailer Schustermann & Borenstein, which specializes in the sale of luxury and premium fashion brands at a significantly reduced price. Registered members have access to the fashion of some 3,000 designer labels, including Calvin Klein, Aigner and Max Mara, on almost 4,000 square metres of sales space.
The challenge was to design a store that expressed the principle of limited accessibility: Members register in a generous foyer clad in elegant black, which affords no glimpse into the sales area; an escalator brings shoppers up through an illuminated, golden, tunnel-like metal structure to the women’s department on the first floor.
