Fashion meets Hospitality
The fashion and lifestyle hotel Moxy at Outletcity Metzigen has opened its doors to welcome fashion-loving guests and an international clientele. blocher partners, the Stuttgart-based architecture and interior design firm, designed the building and interior fit-out. With the stylish hotel, the operators of Outletcity are adding a new element to their experience concept.
In terms of urban planning, the building marks the transition from Metzingen to Outletcity, Europe's largest outlet, and serves as the perfect starting point for a special shopping experience. To this end, even the street layout was adapted, which now leads guests directly to the Italian Luxury Village, which was also designed by the retail experts at blocher partners; they have a long-standing partnership with Outletcity AG and Hugo Boss AG.
The hotel building has 203 rooms between 17 and 35 square metres. For the convenience of the guests, an underground car park is available. The hotel shares a cosy inner courtyard with the Welcome Center, which was also designed by blocher partners. The interior designers from the Stuttgart-based firm have translated the vibrant energy of the outlet city into the Moxy lobby: it is the glamorous centrepiece of the hotel with a lounge area and fireplace. The style is urban and modern, with a touch of industrial charme.
A catwalk runs as a common thread through the lobby, past various curated areas that refer to the Outletcity's origins in the textile industry with creative details. Innovative light installations, quotes from the fashion world on the ceiling, Hollywood make-up mirrors and a counter with an iridescent surface playfully round off the concept. The bar also serves as a reception and the lobby as a café and breakfast restaurant, which is also very much appreciated by lokals.
