Concept for a new store — Barcelona — 4.900 m² — Viladomat
Passion for sports on land and water
Viladomat is a traditional sporting goods retailer from mountainous Andorra. The family-run company wants to expand and has chosen Barcelona, the vibrant metropolis on the Mediterranean coast, to do so. With a breath of fresh air, Viladomat also wants to conquer the sectors beyond mountain sports. The company approached us at the Euroshop trade fair because it was impressed by our work for Bründl Sports in Kaprun and Sporthaus Schuster in Munich, among others. They asked us to develop an entrepreneurial strategy and a design concept on how best to tap into this new market.
In workshops, the strategists from blocher partners sens, together with the blocher partners design department and the Viladomat team, developed a holistic vision that brings the mountain world and coastal metropolis together. Our idea was to incorporate colours and materials from both the city and the mountains into the design of the store and create an emotional whole. The shop is to be built on two floors in the L'Illa Diagonal mall. As a result, we have designed a vision book for the future Barcelona flagship store, in which we turn the world upside down: We are moving the mountains to the basement to make room for streetwear and city sports on the ground floor - mountain to valley and valley to mountain!
