Guests enjoy the usual high standards of this world-renowned hotel brand, and at the same time relish its very individual setting, which makes for an unforgettable stay. The third, fourth and fifth floors house 229 rooms, including 13 long-stay apartments with kitchenettes, six junior suites, three suites and one presidential suite. Their designs are based on the trinity of urbanity – art – nature. For example, the color spectrum draws on natural shades with few strong color accents. In a reference to Mannheim’s industrial history, designers used black pipe steel, e. g. for the escritoire. And huge photographs show a local artist’s view of his hometown, Mannheim.
Aura of lightness
The entrance, the hotel’s calling card, was virtually staged by the designers as a “city garden”. Guests perceive the reception hall – which extends over three storeys – as a very generous, modern and urban space. Almost ceiling-high shelving overflowing with plantings, and up to one meter high, hand-blown glass lamps give the space a light and cosy aura.
High above float atmospheric cloud images as an oversized projection by artist Christina Stihler. At the front desk, original stones from the old town wall that resurfaced during construction take centre stage. On the sixth floor, the hotel restaurant brings together different areas with individual qualities. Designed in light, friendly colors, the restaurant boasts a centrepiece zone with loosely arranged, round tables. The restaurant, with some 300 square metres of interior floor space and a 56-square-metre terrace, accommodates more than 120 guests in style.
