Tauernhof becomes Dips & Drops - the first bike & ski hub in Flachau

The Dips & Drops marks the start of a new chapter for the traditional Hotel Tauernhof in Flachau. Together with the architects and interior designers, an innovative concept has been developed that positions the hotel as a modern hub for bike and ski enthusiasts - and rethinks the architecture, interior design and usage concept.

The existing building was extended by a striking new building, which is divided into three slightly offset volumes. The characteristic pitched roofs take up alpine building traditions and interpret them in a contemporary way. Particularly striking: the glass façade with metal slats in pearl beige in front, which lend the ensemble a rhythmic lightness. Below ground, a two-storey underground car park completes the offer.
Inside, the interior designers attached great importance to combining regional materials and modern interiors: Alpine Nagelfluh composite stone, local silver fir and bush-hammered exposed concrete meet a clear, sporty and elegant design language. The newly designed first floor houses the reception and restaurant as well as spacious lounge areas, while the restaurant has an impressive panoramic window with views of the surrounding mountains.

Future-oriented, identity-creating and alpine

In addition to the guests, the focus was also on the employees: the modernization of the staff rooms, fire protection measures and future-proof building technology were part of the comprehensive refurbishment of the existing building. The heart of the hotel is the bike and ski hub - a central contact point with rental, repair workshop and community spaces that underline its character as the “First Bike and Ski Hub”.
With the Dips & Drops, a sports hotel has been created that not only sets architectural standards, but also impresses as a holistic concept.
