New and sustainable campus
For the world market leader in the field of woodworking machines, based in Schopfloch in the Black Forest, blocher partners is planning a new campus for the company headquarters that include head quarter offices with 16,500 square meters, an employee restaurant and a customer center with 5,500 square meters.
The buildings will set standards in the field of sustainable architecture: Except for ground touching elements and the building’s cores the entire structure of the building is realized as a timber skeleton, with cross laminated timber ceilings. This way the level of prefabrication is high and the deconstruction is already considered in the design process. The goal is to design in accordance with the cradle-to-cradle standards throughout the entire build.
The innovative office building is characterized by two overlapping courtyards that are integrated into the topography and offer a continuous connection between the upper part of the campus where the main factory is located and the lower part where the campus’ new main address is going to be. Thereby all employees are going to be working on one integrated campus overlooking the beauty of the black forest.
