Concept and design for a supermarket branch — Milaneo, Stuttgart, Germany — 300 m² — 2024 — Wang Xin Wang

Chinese aesthetics meets modern shopping experience

With the opening in the Milaneo shopping centre, a family-run company from Munich is now bringing its successful concept to Stuttgart. The design language combines Chinese aesthetics with the efficiency of a supermarket.

A continuous refrigerator wall structures the interior and provides orientation. To achieve this, two originally separate shop areas were merged into one unit. The façade is characterised by a striking, bright yellow shelving element that extends into the interior and emphasises the entrance area. A particular highlight is the red sluice, inspired by the Chinese lucky knot. It creates an exciting transition and intuitively guides visitors into the larger sales area. After two established locations, the family-run company has created a functional yet expressive location in Stuttgart that strengthens the brand identity.
