New construction of a vertical university campus — Gift City, India — 55,000 m²
Vertical knowledge space for a global educational future
blocher partners wins the international competition for the new International Branch Campus (IBC) in GIFT City, India - together with the team from blocher partners india.
The design impresses with a vertically organized campus that rethinks international studies and at the same time responds to climatic challenges. On 28 floors, the IBC Campus combines around 55,000 square meters for teaching, research, student life and infrastructure - divided into six clearly structured usage areas. The vertical neighborhood replaces the classic expansion of space and creates a compact, urban learning environment.
Architecture with vision and impact
Architecturally, the building makes a strong statement in the urban space - with an unobstructed view of the Sabarmati River and a striking façade that impresses both in terms of climate and design thanks to sunbreakers and green retreat zones. The aim is to achieve IGBC Platinum certification.
With the IBC, blocher partners is expanding its involvement in GIFT City, where the office is already represented with four projects. The jury praised the design as “visionary, identity-creating and at the same time pragmatically well thought out”.
