Master planning of a department store as well as conception and realization of the accessory department — Aleksanterinkatu 52, 00100 Helsinki, Finland — 54,000 m² — July 2016 — Stockmann plc

Nordic, classic, elegant

The original 1930 store built in the style of Nordic Classicism is the flagship. Bags, scarves and gloves on the ground floor of the world of accessories are surrounded by curved panels and linearly arranged, minimalist suspended lamps.

Organically movable walls and flexibly adjustable elements divide up the open area; in the shop-in-shop zones and the rear sales area, multi-part wall shells and delicate metallic partitions as well as light rings structure the space. The gentle colour palette of bronze and gold, combined with cream, light-grey and dark nuances, fully reflects the high-class ambiance of the Stockmann Helsinki.
