New construction, reconstruction and expansion of a sporting good store — Rosenstraße 3–5, Munich, Germany — 5,000 m² — 10/2018 — Schuster Verwaltungs-GmbH & Co. KG

At home in the mountains

This traditional Munich store is known beyond city borders as a specialist for everything related to alpine mountain sports. In the course of store expansion, the store’s building at Rindermarkt 13 was torn down and rebuilt. The planners were responsible for the new structure as well as for the interior design of the entire sporting goods store. Since 1996, blocher partners has been collaborating with Schuster. Its accomplishments include the new Schuster building, built in 2006.

The concept is based on umbrella brand communication from the basement to the 5th floor: Polished concrete screed, open ceilings and walls of exposed concrete and gypsum fibreboard in an exposed concrete look form the urban framework within which the various theme worlds unfold. The minimalist look not only allows the merchandise to stand out, but also makes the sports store highly flexible in terms of display options and seasonal exchange of products.
