The Kreativ-Campus south of Karlsruhe’s main railway station is in tended to form an attractive gateway to the city. The call for concept entries hinges on a self-confident, eye-catching and timeless architectural vocabulary that represents a subtle appreciation of the different architectural periods in the history of the city and reflects the spirit of the campus: young, innovative and dynamic. A child-care facility and a student hostel will be located in the existing historical building, while the 15-story newbuild will be home to a variety of working and living models, enabling synergies and bringing together staff, locals and visitors at many different levels.
